The Kerala government, on
Monday, took back its decision to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court over
the linking of Aadhar and cooking gas subsidy.

The affidavit was prepared by IT department officials but it was not discussed in the cabinet. The government had drawn criticism from several quarters for first criticizing the Aadhar-LPG linkage, and then coming forward to endorse it.
The government was supposed to inform the
Supreme Court that Aadhar card would ensure that only eligible persons got the
subsidy. It would do away with middlemen and the possibility of people misusing
